    Description

Beautiful 17" tall antique bisque shoulder-head doll believed to be by J.D. Kestner, Germany, with row of cute, square-cut teeth and a very pretty open mouth, lovely large dark brown, antique glass sleep eyes and finely painted lashes. Her multi-stroke brows match her beautiful
replaced wig of thick curls and bangs with lovely cheek coloring and excellent quality defined bisque facial features. Her original, pin-jointed kid leather body was white washed long ago to preserve the life of the leather. She has gusset joints at her shoulders, riveted hips, knees and elbows with beautiful bisque lower arms with finely detailed fingers and nicely shaped kid legs, feet and toes. She is incised under the wig: 5 3/4 154 DeP and at the edge of her shoulder plate is A 3/4 Made in Germany in script. She is in very good condition with no cracks, chips, or hairlines and no odors as she is from a smoke free home. Clean cotton was inserted under her armpits to prevent sawdust leak which occurs with antique dolls. She wears possibly her original antique lined dress which has 3 worn spots near the left ear. Dress has 3/4 puff sleeves, cotton lace, and ribbon trim with adorable matching pantaloons which are covered by a half slip. Original shoes are worn but original socks are good.
